My home in Burlington

This is my home in Burlngton and I love it very much. It has a large kitchen and front room. One large bed room which I gave to Sister Cochrane a nice size bath room with a blue tub and sink. Then a wash room with a washer and dryer and my bed is in it also.  So the wash room doubles as a bed room. Since it is really a wash room the door for down stair is also in it and a door to go into the garage. It does not have a door to the rest of the house but it is not that bad I have learn to appreciate and love this home and my companion very much.

Sister Garner

Sister Garner is leaving we lived in different home but were together every day for a month she was my first companion I will miss her. She helped me in so many ways as far where every one lives. Who to visit and why. Where to sign up to serve in the community. It has been a great month with her. She will be leaving Monday to go home after serving for 18 months. She has been a great friend to many in this community and will be missed by all the branch members.   She is a wonderful lady that can talk sports with anyone.
Sister Garner and Judy a lady we know and love in Burlington.

Lorine

Lorine is a lady we are visiting with right now. I have also been with the elder 3 time while they give discussions.

Elder Bronson and Elder Cota

Left is Elder Bronson then Elder Cota then Me. These were the first Elders I worked with in Blurlington. But when transfers came around Elder Bronson was changed. Elder Cota who is also the district leader will stay in Burlington. I have enjoyed working with both of them. I love my mission. I have enjoyed going to investigators with these two missionaries.

Debbie & Ricardo

Debbie and Rarçardo got married then they were baptized  right after their marriage. It was wonderful! This was Saturday then Sunday Carrie was baptized she is  the one that was married a couple of weeks ago.

Sister Cochrane

Sister Cochrane is my new companion she came after I had been out two weeks. She will be my companion the whole time I am on my mission. Two daughters, one daughter in law and a Grand daughter drove with her out here. They came on Saturday and the daughters flew home on Tues. She has a great family and they are very loving and very close.  It was fun having them all here.Sister Cochrane is 81 years old but she acts more like  she is 70. She is a wonderful lady and I am sure we will get along great.

Susie one of sister Cochrans daughter. I know my hair is a mess. I have not figured out what to do with it the humidity take any kind od style out in less than a hour or less.

Sister Cochare is the lady in the middle. Ginger is on the left and Tanya is on the right they are branch member.  This picture is taken in the chapel and or gym. There is no benchs so that you can use it as a gym also. This I am told is call a phase one building. When you have a small branch it works fine.

Will and Carrie 1st wedding on my mission

This is our first wedding since I came on my mission. My companion Sister Garner is on the far right. The couple getting married is next to her (Will and Carrie) They are wearing there wedding clothes. Sister Garner and I paid for the marriage licences which is $85.00 here. The Elders that I work with since I have been on my mission is Elder Bronson and Elder Cota. Elder Cota is the district leader. He is on the far left in the picture. We drive the Elders to district meeting every Tuesday. We usually leave at 9:00 am. and get home around 3:30 or 4:00pm. depending on where we stop to eat lunch. We also go to some of the people the missionaries are working with we have been to Will and Carries on our own at least once or twice a week and then with the missionary some time when they go. I am enjoying my mission but this is one of those moments that is wonderful. We of course didn't marry them but we visited them and loved them and cheered them on. Everything is a long drive here to get where ever you are going. To get to will and Carries it is about 15 to 20 minutes and of course the same to get home. So you can see we spend a lot of time driving places. To pick people up for church we ave to start early. I am slow at writing this happen two weeks ago not the date shown above.

On our way to KS

The MTC has been full of learning and roll playing but Friday came and at 3:15pm. was time to go pick up Angie and head to KS. A quick good bye with my grandads. Its hard when Tate is so tiny I just want to hold him. I will truly miss all my sons and daughters and grand children.
By 5:00 Angie and I were on our was to Kansas. We made it to Grand Junction the first night by 11:30pm. There was many hotels but they were all full. They said it was because of Peach day.   We ended up in a hotel on the wrong side of town because there simply was not a room to be had. The hotel managers were calling other hotels for use with no luck. We stayed in a hotel so bad I didn't bring my suitcase in because I was afraid of what might crawl in it while were sleeping. We did not take a shower the ceiling was covered in mold. The blankets had cigarette holes in them and was not clean. Angie's sheet had a brown spot on it we hoped it was chocolate and not something else. But I was tired so I had no trouble sleeping.  We woke and left quickly. That nightmare of a hotel cost us $79.00 they knew they could charge it because there was nothing else available. $5.00 would have been asking a lot for it. (It really should have been condemned)  Oh well I am sure they needed the money.
We found Don and Lucylle and had a nice visit. (lucylle is moms (Shirley's) sister). Don and Lucylle seem to enjoy there little apartment and it is very nice. It is a very nice assisted living housing. After the visit and a bite to eat we were off again.
Thank goodness I brought plenty of money because when I went to pay for gas no credit card worked. It was the weekend so calling didn't help. I found out you must tell the Bank if you are going to another state because they assume some one has taken my cards. Since I never go any where out of Utah they were sure it was not me using the card. But since I had plenty of money it was no big deal but it could have been. We made it to Kansas for the next night sleep. Angie called a hotel head for reservation to make sure we did not have the same problem as the night before. When we got there it looked a thousand times better. But when Angie pulled down the sheets she saw a big cockroach running away. (Is this preparing me for thinks to come?) After showering  and a good night sleep we were off again. We had bought some thing to eat the night before so we didn't have to go to a restaurant on Sunday. We made it to Burlington my new home in time for most of RS. We met many people all very nice. Then we were off to see my brother Jerome who is on a mission only 1 hour and a half from me in Burlington. We had a little problem getting there but we had a wonderful Dinner and visit with Jerome and Linda. They are enjoying their mission and doing a lot of good in Mound city KS. Then once again we where on our way back to Burlington. Since it was Sunday we didn't really do anything but fix our beds so we could sleep.  In the morning we put a few things  away did a little cleaning in the kitchen. Then met up with Sister Garner my company for one month until she goes home she lives in a different house then me. The house I was first told I would be living in.  Sister Garner, Angie and I headed to Wichita Airport so Angie could fly home. We shopped and had lunch a long the way. But for Angie it was mostly just a driving trip. She seen many corn fields along the way. As we neared the airport I got a little emotional until then I was fine but this was my final person connected to home. Once again I realize how much love and will miss my family and all my dear friends.
