Potluck at the church.

We are once again having potluck after church every 3rd Sunday it is to try to help the branch become closer and work better together. Everyone is great at bring food.
This room is our gym and our chapel. They have learned to convert it back to a chapel or gym quite quickly. It truly is a wonderful branch.

Ball game

One of the thing we are to do on our mission is support local activities in the community. There is not much that goes on in Burlington. But ball games for the high school is well attended. I was invited to go to this one or should I say three. We seen two girl teams and one boys team play Friday night. We went at 5:30 and was home at 10:00pm. It was enjoyable. Burlington won all three games. I went with Judy she is in the picture below with me.
I have also went to a breakfast to rise money for a man that need money for medical bills and a operation.

Connie

Sister Connie is a member that we try to visit ever week. She fell and broke her leg, she also had issues come back from her polo as a child. Before her broken leg she had to walk with a walker because of her polo. While in the hospital her husband died. Then the doctors gave her a medicine that reacted with other medicine and left her hands and fingers with nerve damage so she can not bend her fingers, the doctors give her no hope that the nerve damage can be fixed or reversed. With out her hands she can not walk because she needs her hands to use the walker.  We have given her a combination of oils and put them on her fingers after rubbing them her fingers began to bend slightly which she has not be able to do at all till know. When she was able to move them a little it made her very happy. So we left the oils for her to put on 3 times a day and ask her to pray silently as her care take put the oils on her, for the Lord to heal her. It will be a miracle if this help. So we are pray for Connie, faith proceeds a miracle. Nothing is impossible with the Lord! Prayer is truly a tool of faith that proceeds a miracle.

mssionaries, Hiawatha sisters and Elder Bean

Elder Bean is on the back row he is our new Elders in Burlington. Sister Murphy on left on the front row next is Sister Chapman  they are going home from there mission at the beginning of March. I have enjoyed and love them. This is the last time we will see the Hiawatha sisters (Hiawatha is the town they served in) before they go home. Next is me then Sister Cochran. We just got out of a Elder Evans of the Seventies mission tour meeting. It was a wonderful meeting! It is a special blessing to be in a chapel and listen and shake hands with apostles of the Lord! Truly a rare privilege.

Elder Bronson on the far right use to serve in Burlington, it was great to see him again at the Elder Evan mission tour meeting.

Tanya Clyde

Sister Tanya Clyde is a wonderful sister in our branch she is going to have a baby in March. Tanya husband worked for Wal Mart which just closed so she and her family will be moving. We are truly going to miss them very much. She has been a great activity teacher for the 8 to 11 year olds. I have enjoyed getting to know her.  Some sisters in the branch gave her a  baby shower which was wonderful.
